Leigh Bridges' paintings evoke a world which appears fanciful yet
well ordered (not too far from medieval depictions, or childrens'
schematic renderings, both of which favour the bird's eye perspective
for its abilty to order). While elements of the sublime pastoral
are evoked (especially the arcadia-like harmony between humanity
and nature) certain elements nudge the pastoral narrative towards
the dystopic.
