Fiction is at times closer to the truth of an experience than any 'true' historical account. Robert Hengeveld uses fiction in his work to form a better understanding of the real. Through various disciples, his works hover between reality and artifice. Hengeveld is from Toronto and received a Fine Arts Diploma from Georgian College and an AOCAD from the Ontario College of Art and Design. He has exhibited across Canada, in the United State, and in Europe. Currently, Hengeveld is undertaking a MFA at the University of Victoria.
